CPYC Facilities

Cedar Point Yacht Club overlooks Long Island Sound at the mouth of the Saugatuck River.


The property was designed with sailboat racing in mind and facilities are perfect for running one-design and handicap races and social activities afterwards:


Clubhouse encircled by a veranda and lawns affording spectacular views of the harbor and Long Island Sound

Snack bar, separate kitchen facilities and self-service bar (no restaurant)

Large, covered pavilion adjacent to the clubhouse, grills for outdoor meals

Two sandy beaches, a fenced playground, and parking for 200 vehicles

A private basin with slips for 130 sailboats, with fresh water and electricity (8 feet at MLW

Dry sail facilities for more than 150 boats with a launching ramp, beach launching, 5-ton and two 1-ton hoists and a rigging dock

Racks for Lasers, Optis and other small boats


The race support fleet includes a 34' Race Committee (RC) boat, a secondary 25' RC boat, three 18' and one 20' skiff, several rigid bottom inflatables, and enough marks, flags, etc. to comfortably run up to three racing circles, simultaneously.


The Club is open 0830 to 2000 (2300 on Wednesdays and Saturdays) from Memorial Day to Labor Day. From Commissioning Day until the Friday before Memorial Day and from Labor Day until the end of October, the club is open 0800 to 1600.  The club staff monitors VHF Channel 78.
